Tohoku Tomo Update from Philip Holbrook on Vimeo.
We are officially at the halfway point of our trip and have had an incredible time already. Our team has been pulling 16 hour days and we’ve been going non-stop to capture interviews and stories with individuals who are living out what it means to be Tohoku Tomo. We’ve met with the founder of SaveMiyagi.org, the current co-directors of volunteerAKITA, the producer of Pray for Japan, have met volunteers and JETs living in Japan, and even spent a day volunteering helping fishermen on the Oshika peninsula with their seaweed harvest. And today, we have an interview scheduled with one of the members of the J-Pop band, Monkey Majik, in Sendai.
Thanks to your support, we’ve met our Kickstarter goal. However, we still need to meet our operating budget of $10,000.
Our goal was originally set at $7,500 primarily because we were unsure of how this project would be received. We have truly been inspired by the amount of support we’ve received and the response we’ve had as we’ve shared our vision for this film. The actual operating budget right now is $10,000. We have six days left in Japan and six days to go on this Kickstarter project and would greatly appreciate your continued support.
Please share this project with your friends and help push Tohoku Tomo towards our $10,000 operating budget. Every donation large or small will make a difference.
