Today—two years after the Great East Japan Earthquake—I ask that you take at least one minute of your day to pause and reflect on your loved ones and the beauty of life.
On the afternoon of March 11, 2011, entire communities and lives were swept away in Tohoku, Japan by the devastating tsunami triggered by the largest earthquake in Japan’s recorded history. This natural disaster affected the entire region of Tohoku, the nation of Japan, and people around the world.
As someone who lost a friend, a peer, a beautiful soul, I am reminded constantly how precious life truly is. Pause, and reflect today.Pray for Japan, but celebrate their recovery. Remember those who lost their lives, but rejoice the lives they lived. Never forget the disaster, but always embrace Tohoku’s bright future.
Be a friend to Tohoku. Together, we are: Tohoku Tomo.
